Helen Wang Ghent, Creative Director of the Akzonobel International Center of Aesthetics, knows everything and even more color. He graduated from school arts, then the Royal Academy of Arts in the Netherlands. Father Helen is an architect. From early childhood, she was immersed in the world of harmony, beauty and clear lines. Before take a serious post in Akzonobel, twenty years worked as a stylist and editor in large glossy magazines. The passion for color and serious knowledge in this area allows Helen to remain one of the world's largest experts in color trends. What colors will be in the top in the coming years, in which range it is wiser to arrange a bedroom and an office, how to choose a harmonious shade - about it in an exclusive interview with Mrs. Wang Ghent.

How color goes to favorites?
Our team annually determines the trends in the color solutions of the interiors and the fall declares the color of the next year. We are not the only ones who work in this direction, but our approach is multifaceted: we carefully examine what is happening around, relying on the opinion of a large number of people around the world. One or another color is in the fashion not as appropriate. Chooses a man himself. Preferences, consciously or not, are formed from various factors: from the weather to the political situation.
Our team carefully reads the press, browsing magazines, we go to the exhibition, travel a lot around the world, inspiring new trends, arrange "brainstorming", inviting well-known designers and architects, discussing existing trends with them. Systematization of the information received is a very interesting process! What shade is the most fashionable?
I can surely say: in many countries of the world - both in Europe, and in America - today there is a living interest in all shades of blue - from gentle-gray to saturated indigo. At the Peak of Fashion Denim, the absolute leader of this year and the next few years.
The results of our labor are reflected in the updated paint palettes of the Dulux brand of Akzonobel. They help to see the principles of combining colors in the interior. The basis is the color of the year, several concomitant color palettes are selected to it so that even the most demanding client can choose a suitable harmonious color solution: someone likes a combination of active color with light blue shades, the dark is closer.
The shades of gray, royal dark blue, red-raspberry with purple and yellow (not golden!). These colors have long become a classic and do not lose their relevance.

What is the difference between the interior colors in the office and in the house?
For office registration, energetic yellow and red are suitable - they stimulate efficiency. Blue helps to concentrate better on tasks. But since the company employs people of different temperaments, it is important to take into account the preferences of the majority. For spacious office space, in which employees spend eight hours a day, neutral white is appropriate. I would suggest to revive it with bright accents, details.
