Samples of ancient architecture that have come down to this day serve as a bright example of a combination of useful and decorative properties of stone elements. And today, the walls decorated with a facing artificial stone, mimic a stone or brickwork, which at the time was performed on certain construction technologies.

Modern architectural elements made of artificial stone (door and window platbands, window sills, arches and window traverses, castle and rustic stones, sockets, etc.) help bring the face of the facade to classic architectural samples or implement other design ideas. In any case, solving a common style task, they increase the aesthetics of the structure. At the heart of the decorative facing stone and architectural elements - Portland cement used as a binding component. Thanks to porous fillers (clay and quartz sand, perlite, pemps or mixtures thereof), each "stone" has a small mass, which simplifies the installation. Useful consumer properties provide modifying additives (plasticizers, contamination).

Decorative elements will help to issue a variety of buildings from fantasy to conventional garages, for example, in the form of styling in the spirit of the Old Russian architecture using the Bas-reliefs of the Vladimirsky Rus series (KR-Professional (Kamrock), 30 × 30 cm (from 900 rubles. / PC. Pigments are responsible for a wide flower range. Combating producers in the manufacture of decorative stone use high brand cement and imported dyes. Therefore, the cost of quality products cannot be low, which naturally affects the price of finished products. Price 1 m² "Stone" cladding - from 850 rubles, which is quite acceptable, especially in comparison with the price of a natural analogue. And the cost of facing 1 m² starts with 1300 rubles.

Among the well-known manufacturers of decorative facing stone of Eurokam, Kamrock, Krprofessional, Leonardo Stone, White Hills, "Perfect Stone", "Camelot". The assortment of each of them includes more than 30 collections of elements (both flat and angular), differing in natural prototypes and color schemes, several types of thin-walled facing bricks, architectural decor, paving slabs, border stones and flows.

Elements of the facade decor made of artificial stone weigh noticeably fewer products from natural prototypes and slightly increase the load on the bearing structures. In addition, they are much easier to process. For their cutting, a special expensive tool is not required, which greatly facilitates installation. If an architectural decor is needed for an even less mass, pay attention to the products made of polystyrene foam. Our company's specialists have developed production technology that protects their main disadvantage - fragility. In the process of manufacture, the elements from expanded polystyrene are coated with reinforcing compositions on a cement-based or based on elastic polymers, different thicknesses (from 3 to 5 mm). It is equally important that we use expanded polystyrene foam, manufactured according to GOST 15588-86. According to the results of fire testing, such material refers to self-fighting.

Functionality and beauty

Interestingly, the elements that have become decorative in the collections of facing stone were initially necessary. For example, during the construction of jumpers of semicircular opening windows, doors or arches, the arc of the desired radius was laid out of stones or bricks, separating them from each other with wedge-shaped seams. In the center of the jumper strictly vertically, the castle stone. And it was inserted last, after which the stone arch could suffer significant loads. Now the imitation of these structures plays the role of original finishing elements. Columns (stone, wooden) appeared as the simplest element of the female beam design. In frame structures, they also remain one of the main parts of the frame, which perceive the load from the beams attached or relying on them, riglels, farms. Artificial stone columns are not supported, but they give the facade of the building monumentality and solemnity. The corrupt plates on the support pillars of various fences serve as an architectural completion of the headings and racks, and also impede the effects on them moisture, flushing of seams, cracking and subsequent destruction of bricks and concrete.

Previously, the main function of the cornice, horizontal protrusion on the wall under the roof, was the protection of the wall from flowing water. Currently, the eaves and borders from the artificial stone allocate the docks of different finishing materials (stone, brick, plaster) or visually divide the facade plane, distinguishing it on the floors and the ground part. Keep in mind: the horizontal division gives the structure to the external stability and the foundation, and the vertical - on the contrary, visually facilitates and increases the height of the house. Do not ignore the recommendations of the manufacturers of decorative stone and save on corner elements that complement the majority of collections. Otherwise, whatever beautiful and high-quality finish of the facade, one look at the angle, where the stones converge the jack can dispel the illusion of naturalness and volume, and the "stone" will turn into a normal facing tile.

Installation of architectural elements

Most decorative elements are mounted on pins (Ø 6-12 mm) and glue. Galvanized studs are used as pins, stainless steel rods, primed fittings and other fasteners (anchor hooks, bolts, etc.). They are necessary for the initial installation of the product and its retention in case of emergency destruction of the adhesive layer. The base should be durable and even to ensure reliable fixation of fasteners, withstand the mass of the decorative element and prevent an excessive increase in the thickness of the adhesive layer. Works start with marking the base and installation of pins. In accordance with them, mark the opposite side of the element. In places of entry of the pins, the holes are drilled by a slightly larger diameter, to the depth of the thickness of the product. Then the element is hung and its position is adjusted so that the seams between the mating elements are about 5 mm. After that, the decor is mounted on glue and do not move to complete drying. Elements of architectural decor, as a rule, bright shades. After installation, they often have to wash. A protective hydrophobic composition is applied to peeled and dried parts.

Decorative elements for the framework of window and doorways, as well as rusts should be installed before installation of artificial stone. This is important to create an accurate scheme for placing a facing stone on the facade, the optimal and aesthetic fit of the stocking tiles, minimizing trimming. Stacking elements start downward down (with the exception of rustic stones). With a fairly impressive mass, the architectural decor has a small mounting surface. Therefore, use anchors that prevent the location effect, and glue. The technology of preparation of the adhesive mixture is the same as for mounting the facing stone. There are no less than 5 mm between individual parts of the decorative elements - at least 5 mm. Otherwise, when installing, the slightest deviations in size will be noticeable, and each element will have to be customized manually using the "Bulgarian", which will increase labor costs and the cost of work.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS

The most interesting process is the development of a facade project. Choose one or two textures of the suitable color and elements of the architectural decor are not so difficult. It is harder to imagine how they will look at the facade. Find the optimal solution to the manufacturers of decorative stone. Station architects of companies will create a computer model at home and will offer several finishing options. For visualization, it will take pictures of the structure in different angles, its sketch or working documentation. However, a specialist can come to the venue and get all the necessary information. The architect will take note of the wishes of the owners of the house and select certain types of stone for walls and base, decorative elements that will become the logical conclusion of its architectural appearance. And after a while will offer options for fragmentary or complete finishes.

After the final approval of the project, it will calculate the amount of cladding, decorative elements and consumables. Thus, the owners of the house get the opportunity to take a look at their home from the side, compare several options and choose the best designer solution. Accurate calculations made on the basis of a computer model will help to avoid many errors, such as the cost of purchasing excess material or additional trouble when it is short.
