Separately standing bath houses in summer cottages serve as a favorite place of rest of the owners and their guests, so special attention is paid to the interiors of these buildings, and often it is the baths that become a comfortable polygon for bold creative experiments.

The idea to transfer a bright khokhloma painting with the usual eye of the kitchen utensils on the walls of the rest room in the bath appeared at the housewoman. In her opinion, the luxury ornamental paint, creating the feeling that the painted tableware glows from the inside, as it is impossible to suit the hot Russian bath with a real wood stove. Designer This idea supported and even found professional artists who can perform painting on the walls. In order to study the subject in more detail, we went to the homeland of people's folk - in the city of Semenov (Nizhny Novgorod region), where with the XVIIV. Made "precious", "gilded" dishes. The elegant cups, kettles, bowls, and are also purchased there for designing the interior, and are made according to individual sizes and a chest. But we ran ahead, so we will return to the beginning of construction.

On a plot of 7 acres, where there was already a residential building, a few places remained a bit. To save money, we decided to buy a ready-made little house. From a variety of typical bath buildings, a single-storey log house was chosen from the rolling log of a bone roof. It was installed on the reinforced concrete ribbon foundation, covered the roof and left for a year for shrinking logs.

True, before the construction of construction, a simple layout had to change a little. As a result, the house was divided into two main parts: "wet" zone (there are a steam room, shower, bathroom) and a rest room. The unusual function is performed by the porch of the bath: the door of the furnace firebox is coming out on it. The hosts such a solution seems comfortable, as the furnace is to the street (it is more safe), and the firewood does not fall into the room and do not pollute it. The rest room turned out to be very small (14.5m2), but thanks to the correctly selected sizes of furniture made to order from the tree, it looks quite spacious. Visually increases the space and a unique painting on the walls, because a bright pattern with a multitude of parts visually spreads them.

Nuances of painting

Much time has taken preparation for painting the surface of the tree. To give her a gentle velvety texture, it took a thorough hand grinding, especially on the ends of the logs on the liar. Then, the tree was impregnated with an antiseptic on an acrylic basis and only after that they put the contours of the picture, trying to harmoniously enter it into the interior. In order to close as much as possible to the original, the shade of gold paint for the first layer of painting was picked up long and carefully. By the way, in Khokhloma products are not used at all, and the aluminum powder (he came to replace the tin), and the gold color appears due to the fact that the lacquer layer acquires an amber tone when firing in the oven. The painting was performed in layers. Fill in all the necessary fragments of "gold", switched to "red items". At the last stage, they did the most difficult drawing of the contour and intricate crighted patterns, similarly to the bird feathers, whether the bugly curved herbs are. The finished painting was secured by aerosol dummy varnish, which strengthened the brightness of the paints and protected it from damage.

Gold and fire

Of course, in this case there was no possibility to accurately reproduce the technology of the Khokhloma painting, it is a complex process that requires firing into the furnace. But artists in their work tried to close as much as possible to traditional color solutions, repeat a thin elegant ornament. Moreover, the selected plot-hot jarry is less characteristic of khokhloma products than plant motives, so the masters had not so many examples for direct copying, but a large scope for fantasy. Significant complexity were also uneven walls. After all, one thing is to calculate and apply a drawing on a smooth surface and completely different on rows of rounded logs.

Practicality and beauty

As a result of the painstaking work of artists, the room acquired an elegant, solemn and a little fabulous character and became similar to the magic box. But the designer did not forget about comfort. The agencies set wide benches with backs and soft pillows, a large table. These items are painted in a dark color to create a contrast with a light wood tree and the rest of the furniture and a chest. Such a decision gives the interior special weight, significance. The red tone present in the painting is supported by a tint of pillow covers and blinds on the windows. The floors in the room are lined with a parquet board, laying - "deck". This solid oak "carpet" is best suited to log walls and a board ceiling.

1. Since the door of the furnace firebox-Kamenka goes to the porch of the bath, it was more carefully reacted to his finish. Flooring and steps were made of porcelain stoneware stoves, wooden surfaces around the furnace were treated with flame retardant composition, provided for storage of firewood. Opposite the door installed a decorative lattice. 2. Roughly treated and artificially aged wooden table details and shops give the interior of the "rustic" flavor. 3. Glowing gold paints of painting emphasize the golden color of the logs, creating a warm solar flavor and bring a festive mood into the room. 4. It is interesting that in the design of the "wet" zone did not apply additional materials: the walls and the ceiling were left wooden, only the floor was separated by plates from porcelain stoneware. The logs and boards were well treated with moisture protection compositions. A tree dominant in the interior of the shower, creates an unusual, but very cozy atmosphere. The same decision made it possible to significantly save money.
