We tell how to care for real canvas of artists at home and extend the life of the picture for a long time.
In the video gave short tips. See if there is no time to read the article
1 Choose a place without straight sunlight
When choosing a wall to place the picture, consider natural lighting. The wall on which the all day is falling straight sun rays is a bad place for painting, since with time the paint can be filled or change your shade. Good places for cloths: Wall in the depths of the room further from the window and space on the sides of the window.
An exception can be the paintings that have written quite recently. During the first 12 months, oil paint does not suffer from sunlight and is not enough hard to start cracking.
2 Do not heated the cloth
The optimal temperature in the room where the picture will hang - 18-22 ° C. Of course, if you are not the owner of a valuable collection of oil painting, you do not need to post the thermometer in the room and adjust the heating. It is enough just not to hang pictures close to batteries or electrical heaters, as well as to the stove in the kitchen and any other major devices that emit heat.
3 Do not hang a picture next to the lamp
From the direct light exposure to paint, in time burns out, so try to find such a place so that there is no less than a meter between the picture, wall-mounted and floor lamps. In addition, the paint flashes into the light, so it is much more convenient to consider it with a soft scattered light.
4 Do not allow moisture and temperature drops
Try not to hang pictures in front of the air conditioner or humidifier, next to the plants that you spray from the sprayer. It is also desirable to avoid raw badly heated rooms.
5 Avoid pollution
Try not to touch the canvas with your hands, take the picture of the edges of the frame. Also do not hang the cloth in the kitchen, where water or oil splashes can fly to it. Or in the room where there is a fireplace. Smoke is also harmful to cloths.
6 Clean the right from dust
Cleaning pictures need to be conducted by following several simple but important rules.
- Refuse to use a wet cloth or vacuum cleaner.
- Use a soft pad from velvet or flannel or powder.
- Faigery the cloth in one direction, very gently touching.
- If there is an opportunity, put the cloth under the glass so that dust falls on the paint.
7 Use the right cleaners
If a stain appeared in the picture, you can try to remove it. Best of all, of course, take the picture to the restorer, but if its cost is small, you can try to cope on your own. You will need Terpetin. This is a solvent, so try to apply the drop of this oil to the edge of the picture to see how paint behave.
If everything is in order, neatly wipe the fan with a cotton disk, moistened in oil. Without push and friction. Watch that the paint does not appear on the cotton disk. Then carefully wipe the peeled plot with a slightly damp soft cloth to remove the remains of the oil.
8 Check the room
If you bought a picture written by oil paint, and its age less than one year, regularly ventilate the room. The fact is that paint breathes over the end for several months and needs air inflow.
Already in the second year after writing, paints dried finally, and the picture must be protected from drafts and dampness.
