The new owner of a one-room apartment with a total area of 36m2, located in the block house of the II-18 series, wanted to use the available square meters as soon as possible. According to his ideas, such a modest living space should have to be equipped as a studio divided into functional zones: a bedroom, a living room with a work area, a kitchen with a bar counter. This was the "entertainer" the acquired bed, book wall and TV. At the same time, it was meant by itself that in the apartment there will be an entrance hall and bathroom. The demanding Novosel's wishes turned to the Design Bureau "Hot Draft Ltd.".
Diagonal layout
Fortunately for the owner, the bearing walls in the apartment are only on its perimeter. This made it possible to demolish all the inner partitions and perform redevelopment literally from a clean sheet. The only obstacle was the risers of water supply and sewage, which at low ceiling altitude (2.64 m) are placed in such a way that the "wet zones" had to be left in their places, which did not create additional problems.In return for a small dark hallway, in which all the doors opened, the designer offered an input zone with a wide portal leading to the studio space. For better insolation of the hallway, the upper part of the opening did not close completely, but designated a decorative shelf.
Residential space is zoned with the help of color and texture of the floor, as well as the original design, into which the refrigerator is concluded, and the practical wardrobe, which plays the role of the partition.
In order for a small apartment to seek spacious, the floor ceramic tiles was laid on the diagonal relative to the direction of movement from the entrance. This technique allowed to visually lengthen the room. An apristed combination of yellow and blue tiles of different format was asked Rhythm and designated the boundaries of the hallway, kitchen and residential zone. Fill and in the living room floor is covered by Tarkett tiled carpet. The material is ideal for laying floors of complex geometry, since when used in such cases, a rolled carpet remains a lot of waste (up to 50%).
Cold-hot
Immediately from the entrance door overlooking the kitchen. It was required to find a kind of original solution so that the first impression of acquaintance with the apartment was pleasant. This purpose designer turned the standard two-chamber refrigerator with a blue facade of Electrolux (Sweden) to an architectural object that zones the space, separating the kitchen from the living room. For a cumbersome area of household appliances, a P-shaped drywall was made, decorated with blue and yellow lanes wallpaper stacked horizontally.
Since the refrigerator highlights heat, ventilation channel is supplied to the rear wall of the box. It passes above the window and mounted kitchen cabinets to the hole for natural ventilation.
From the outside of the kitchen area, Arbonia (Germany - Switzerland) was in front of the box of the box, and the heating pipe is underway and the insulation layer is insulated ("escape", Russia). The heat insulation is necessary to prevent the heating of the wall of the refrigerator from the radiator. The latter was transferred, because the owner of the house wanted the kitchen sink to be located near the window, and the radiator prevented it. I had to make another significant adjustment: reduce window opening. Thus, the countertop was at one level with the windowsill. Kitchen floor lockers rise above the gender on the traditional 900mm, so the opening of 180mm laid the brick on the bottom (coordinating the reconstruction).
Get into size
To the left of the entrance to the apartment is located bathroom. Its area increased slightly to 0.8m2. But the standard rectangular premises the designer proposed to give the shape of an irregular polygon, and this allowed to compactly place the bath and a washbasin, and the toilet to separate the partition.A multifunctional wardrobe with mirror sliding doors to the right of the entrance also plays the role of partitions between the bedroom and the hallway. Builders gathered it from Stanley's profiles (Russia) and laminated IKEA facades (Sweden), significantly saving funds planned for furnishings. The cabinet is very convenient because it has a rational two-sided design. The closest section close to the front door (width - 900mm, depth - 660mm) serves to store outerwear and large items. The next section is divided into two parts. One, 200mm depth, opens from the hallway and is intended for shoes and accessories (perfumery, glasses, belts). Another part of this section is available from the bedroom and is equipped with drawers for linen and clothing. Due to the fact that the depth of the cabinet here is only 400mm, things are decomposed into one row and it is easy to get them. Finally, the third section of the cabinet can be opened only from the bedroom. Here weigh suits, shirts, pants. From the side of the hallway, the wall of this section is covered with plasterboard and is saved by wallpaper, and the end decorates the laminated panel from MDF.
Interestingly, the third section in a depth of 60mm is less than the other two. This nuance allowed to add centimeters to the space near the bar counter and push the dangerous corner of the closet from the path from the hallway to the living room. The difference in the depths of the sections is visible only on the plan, as in the apartment itself it is disguised as the protrusions of the portal separating the hallway and the kitchen.
Catering cabinet, and other solutions in this apartment, starting with redevelopment and ending with color combinations, can be considered a kind of know-how, which is worth noticeing to those who want to make the house more convenient and more practical.
