In addition to smalts in specialized stores and artistic salons, you can purchase multicolored stone squares (20204mm). They can also be used to work, but note that, in contrast to the smalle, as if luminous from the inside and overflowing the set of shades, this material is opaque. Osmalt is one significant disadvantage - a significant fluctuation of square thickness (from3 to 4mm).

Sequence of work

Draw or copy from the original the appropriate pattern first on millimeter tracing, and from it- on a sheet of multilayer plywood, resistant to humidity and long-lasting exposure. The tabletop frame is a welded frame from a metal corner of 2020mm, which inserted a flat panel. When determining the thickness of the plywood base, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the mosaic squares - in the finished form, the top plane of the countertop should be slightly above the edge of the panel to easily flow rainwater.

After the preliminary layout of the drawing, the elements of the mosaic one by one are attached to the plywood sheet with a small distance of vinyl quick-drying glue. If necessary, elements can be reduced by nipples. When the tabletop is fixed on the frame, the distances between the slices of smalts are flooded specifically designed for mosaic with cement mortar, and the surface is cleaned with a sponge. Note: Vinyl adhesive is convenient in operation, but the use of cement mortar will give the table higher strength and tightness. You can also replace vinyl glue by glue mastic, especially if the table is located in the garden.

The frame of the table with the feet of wrought iron was purchased in the commission store. What to do so that he acquires not only a decent, but also the original look? A new table top decorated with a mosaic with a maritime plot, and it will be a unique thing with a bright personality.
