With the ceiling finish rarely when experimenting. Most often leave a laconic level surface that does not attract attention. But sometimes design failures occur, and the ceiling becomes a real "art object". In this article we collected the most common mistakes in the design.
1 Multi-level construction
Sophisticated multi-tiered ceilings in the apartment look not very attractive. It takes centimeters from the height, and in general it looks too heavy for ordinary housing.
Better: Smooth surface
A simple single-level ceiling is much advantageous for the standard apartment. This is especially true when the height of the walls is 2.75 m or less. Unfortunately, with a multi-level design, save space will not be possible. If you want an interior with a highlight, you can experiment with the colors and ways of painting, add interesting furniture or, in the end, limit the decor. And the basic architecture of the room is better to leave the most simple as possible.
2 graphics and film
Bright drawings on the ceiling look tasteless, besides, they strongly overload the interior and do not leave the chance to another decor look attractive. Such a ceiling makes the room below, so apartments with low walls this option is contraindicated.
Better: Laconic design
The easier the ceiling in a typical apartment, the better. If you want to decorate space, then it is better to start with decor or textiles.
3 Extreme color
Inappropriately selected shade for the ceiling can cross all the attractiveness of the interior. The exception is only black - this reception has long been worked out by designers. In practice, it has been proven that the black ceiling makes the interior deeper and erases the boundaries of the room. And with other shades, experiment must be very neat. This can be done only under the supervision of a specialist.
Better: Classic Bright or Dark Colors
When you do not know what to choose, choose the classics. This statement is relevant for both tones in the interior. The white-colored ceiling or the ivory shade in any case will fit into the design, whatever experiments you have started.
4 Multicolored backlight
The LED tape around the ceiling perimeter creates a decorative effect, emphasizes the shape of the room and serves as an additional source of lighting. This is a great solution for the living room, but only if the shades of the LED are selected correctly. It is better to abandon bright colors. They do not create a sense of holiday and fun, but rather tire and annoy.
Better: Classic Lighting
Classic cold or warm LEDs look more neutral, and therefore winning. They are suitable for different styles and interior palettes, create a feeling of calm and do not cut eyes.
5 Lepunin
Lepunina looks very aristocratic and worthy, but only on high ceilings. In the interiors of Khrushchev, this decor is very difficult to enter. In order not to get a chance, we recommend to make visualization and think if it will be a good solution.
Better: navigate in height
Some ideas of decor stucco even in modern interiors look very beautiful. It depends on the placement of the room, its design, as well as from the height of the ceilings: it should be 3 meters or more.
