The owners of the house wanted to update the interior, which is outdated for years since the construction years, but to maintain some furniture and decor in it. The architect managed to transform the space and enter the existing details very organic - the interior acquired the spirit of family history.
House owners - married couple - built a house from a glue bar 8 years ago and turned to the architect Ksenia Konovalova asking to update the interior. Customers wanted to make the space lighter, modern and functional, so that the new interior reflects their tastes and necessarily a family history.
Before starting work, the owners and architect compiled a list of important tasks that needed to solve. Basically, they concerned the reorganization of the first floor of the house, lighting, furniture that had to be replaced or left and renovated.
The owners have a whole list of unique items of decor, painting and textiles, which were previously in the house and had to find their place in the updated interior.
Redevelopment
The reorganization mainly concerned the first floor of the house in the kitchen-living room area. According to the original plan, the first floor was a square with four carrier pilons in the middle, which divided the space for eight conventional zones. The furniture was placed in the corners, the central part remained empty. Bearing pylons visually clutched the space and reduced the size of the room.
In the proposed refreshing project, the architect refused such division of space and allocated three main zones: kitchen, living room, dining room. A large-scale work was carried out with the placement of furniture and zoning was thought out.
The kitchen headset has been updated. Customers have previously had an ICEA kitchen. Frames left, and the facades made new ones, to order.
As a result, a cozy living area appeared with a fireplace, a spacious dining room, an updated kitchen of an enlarged area and a small recreation area.
Many decor items - for example, a cloth for decorative pillows, carpets, Suzan - were the property of customers and brought from Uzbekistan. Sofa in the Lounge Zone is the Malaysian sofa, which was renovated.
Bearing pylons tried to dissolve as much as possible in space and make them invisible. To do this, we used mirror vertical inserts.
In addition, they updated the stairs to the second floor - they welded new railing, and the steps were restored and redesigned.
Design
The basic principle in the design was to create a calm, soft basis in the color solutions of the floor, walls, ceiling, large objects of furniture for the introduction of bright and cheerful elements of decor, textiles and painting.
Father Customers - Akudin Veniamin Georgievich - Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, so many painting and schedules have been collected in the house, which played an important role in creating a new space.
As a result, the image of a light interior was born, which includes modern architectural solutions, and original items of decor and textiles. Details reflect the elements of the Eastern culture and the interesting life history of the owners of the house.
The project has retro furniture, which has already been at the customers. It adds the appropriate mood and contributes to the fact that a family history is felt in the interior. For example, vintage chairs in the dining room are pulled by a new cloth. And the lamp in the form of a tower is a unique subject, which was created in 1978 in a single copy.
Lighting
Customers wanted to make as much light scenarios as possible. Therefore, the project used three options. The first is the main light that is resolved with built-in point lamps together with a bulk chandelier in the dining area and light suspension over the kitchen island. The second scenario is an additional light - track lamps. And the third is decorative lighting, which creates a cozy chamber atmosphere, the sconium is responsible for it in the fireplace area and the lounge zone.
By style, the choice of lamps was subordinated to the same principle as the rest of the interior - a combination of modern elements with openwork, unusual lamps in ethnic style.
The private bedroom zones on the second floor and the bathroom have suffered minor changes - partially updated the finish and some furniture items, but with the decor worked thoroughly so that the new appearance corresponded to the first floor of the house.
Architect Ksenia Konovalova, project author:
The main complexity in the project was to get from a clear distinction of space on small segments caused by the presence of heavy bearing columns. And also integrate the furniture that customers wanted to leave from the past interior (it is not always easy and simply laid in a new concept). So, for example, the stands for the TV, which customers wanted to leave, did not fit in size or in color. As a result, I came up with making a new, large console located behind one of the sofas in which niches were provided - the existing stands were simply inserted into them, so we hid their color and source sizes.
