Studio interior for short-term lease Designer Yulia Sobol decided to arrange with a hint on the style of the 50s and 1960s of the last century. So here there were bright walls, characteristic decor and furniture on the legs.
The small-sized studio is located in a new residential complex on Vasilyevsky Island in St. Petersburg, not far from the main attractions of the city. The owner plans to pass it into short-term rent and invited designer Julia Sable to make the interior attractive for the guests of the Northern Capital.
"It was necessary to fill the apartment with the most convenient functionality so that the guests feel comfortably and comfortable," the designer is starting about his work.
Planning
In fact, a small studio was an elongated "trailer" with just one window, isolated bathroom and hallway. She did not require global redevelopment, and on such an area simply nothing to carry out. The only thing that was done was - removed the partition between the hallway and the room, and also built - in the bathroom to arrange shower and get a niche to install the washing machine.
Finish
In order to practice the walls, the walls were chosen for the floor - laminate, the walls in the bathroom were tiled only in wet areas, the main area was painted. But to make a reference to the style of the 50-60s, the designer offered to partially use the wallpaper - they lay the wall with the window.
"The paint is more practical in use, especially in apartments for rent. The walls can be washed, and it is easier to restore if necessary, - explains the designer. - The floor pattern simulates a dialing parquet characteristic of a period of 50-60-x ".
The kitchen zone was abandoned from the usual apron of tiles or glass. The wall is painted in a bright orange color, which, according to the author of the project, again refers to the interiors of the middle of the last century. It used another, more stable and durable paint to make the surface as practical as possible. The paint of the same brand was covered with walls in the hallway - they are also potentially more damaged.
Furniture and storage
For an apartment, which is planned to be handed over to short-term rent, large storage systems are not needed. And in the studio they are accomplished problematic. Nevertheless, the designer has provided a maximum that is possible in these conditions. The room is a closet that is divided into several sections. In the one that closer to the hallway, you can store outerwear. And the section that "comes" in the room is intended for personal belongings. Before the bed has a chest. The kitchen is quite spacious for storage of dishes and products.
Much of the furniture is made to order (wardrobe, kitchen, and a hanger in the hallway is made by the author's arms of the project), but there are also ready-made positions. For example, bed, bedside tables chose in Ikea.
Lighting
Even in a small area, it is important to think through different scenarios of light, which has done in this project. So, for example, the room lights the ceiling chandelier, the bed has a table lamp, and the kitchen area is highlighted with ceiling sobs. In the hallway - the lamp on the ceiling in retrostile, and in the bathroom - the overall light and the backlight of the mirror in the form of a hanging lamp on the cord.
In the bathroom, due to competent zoning and the calculation, it was possible to accommodate the spacious shower 90x90 cm, and the washing machine (with a vertical load), and even a mini-water heater.

Studio apartment is located in the center of St. Petersburg, where many historical objects of different times. Therefore, I wanted to bind the image of the apartment to the story. The classics recreate constantly, it is diverse, rich and diverse. I wanted to show that there were periods in which there was also a lot of wonderful and interesting, in addition to royal times. So the idea was born to bring the interior to the 50-60s. The whole project (from the beginning, when the idea was born, and before its final result) took 4 months.
