It seems that in the interior something is missing? Sometimes it is enough to rearrange the furniture or revise the lighting scenarios so that this feeling disappeared.
1 Make sure the interior has a semantic center
The feeling that the room is empty and something is missing, often appears due to the lack of accent. In the interior there should be something that, in the first place, the look is falling - the semantic and visual center. What can they become?
- A pronounced functional zone: for example, in a small bedroom with a large double bed, there is almost no sense of understanding.
- The accent wall of a saturated color or a single color palette for textiles will change the feeling from the room and make it more thoughtful.
- Also as an accent you can use the decor: paintings, figurines, vases with flowers.
2 Remove the furniture
If the furniture in the room is placed strictly around the perimeter, and an empty space was formed in the center, the interior begins to pick up boredom. To get rid of the feeling of emptiness, take something to the center. For example, place a coffee table before the sofa or move the chair so that they are at an angle to the wall.
If the room is quite spacious, you can resort to zoning and separate the part with furniture, screen or glass partition.
The lush plant is also suitable in floor pots, bulk interesting chandeliers or contrasting carpets. It is important to drag attention to the center of the room.
3 Select New Decor
When making small spaces, people often face a fear of overloading space, so they refuse any decor, leaving only the necessary practical things. In this situation, it is important to remember that even the most ascetic of all styles - minimalism - does not exist without decor. Against the background of perfectly smooth and clean lines, there must be two or three details that complete the interior. A nonsense picture, a laconic vase or an interesting lamp - without them in the interior can not do.
4 Add textures
The interior in which there is no diversity of textures may look empty. For example, when the glossy headset in the kitchen was supplemented with a smooth tabletop and tiled on the floor, leveled and painted the walls. It looks much more interesting to the room in which various textures are combined: a wooden table top, woven furniture, a brick wall, a combination of tiles and laminate on the floor.
5 Add Light
Another reason, due to which it may seem that something is missing, is the wrong lighting scenario. Regardless of the size of your room, it needs several light sources for each functional zone. If you hang one chandelier in the center of the ceiling, the corners will be a bit in the shade and beautiful furniture or an interesting decor will simply be seen.
In a large room, you can go further and make backlight for your design solutions. For example, set a pair of point lamps over the accent wall of the brick so that the texture of the material is beautifully looked at the evening and did not deprive the interior of the comfort. You can highlight the pictures, a collection of photos on a wall or a favorite sofa.
Different levels of lighting also add volume to the interior and make it more interesting. Hang the wall on the wall in addition to the chandelier, put the floor lamp.
