1 rechargeable or LED?
Rechargeable lanterns lamps can produce multiple light on the sides (like a flue kerosene lamp) or have a focused beam (as a searchlight or car lamp). For stationary use, lights with a focused beam often choose, as it allows you to create a patch of a fairly well-lit space, even at a distance of 10-15 meters from the light source.
Lanterns with a focused beam makes sense to use, for example, during construction work, when the illuminated object is not moving anywhere. But for permanent movement in the garden and garden, the lantern with scattered light is more convenient.
LED lights are the most economical and compact, it is easy to transfer them from place to place and, moreover, they are quite stable and shocks. Their competitors for economy - lights with luminescent lamps - in this regard are more vulnerable. Another advantage of LEDs is their resistance to low temperatures, they do not lose performance even with fifteen-twenty-perdus frost.
In all other relations, lithium-ion batteries have an advantage. They are more compact, lighter and energy-intensive. In addition, in the lithium-ion batteries of the latest models there is no memory effect, they do not spoil from downtime and withstand several times the number of recharge cycles rather than nickel-cadmium batteries.
LEDs are resistant to frost, but you can't tell this about lithium-ion batteries. If you are planning a year-round outdoor holiday, it is better to choose a LED flashlight with nickel-cadmium batteries. For the summer season, it makes sense to choose a lantern on lithium-ion batteries. Just do not leave it for the winter in an unheated room.

2 Does the moisture protection case need?
Most portable battery lights are not equipped with moisture protection case. Therefore, for use in difficult weather conditions, for example, for hiking and campgrounds, it is better to choose a flashlight with the dust and moisture protection index of IP not lower than 66.

3 What type of charging to choose?

4 Do additional features need?
