Olga Vasilyev's designers and Irina Petrov turned an apartment in a century-old house in a convenient and functional space. The little square did not interfere, and vice versa - gave impetus to implement interesting solutions.
The hosts purchased an apartment on Rubinstein Street - the most part of St. Petersburg - not for themselves, but for reception of the city. It is located on the third floor of the house of 1914 buildings and has a difficult story: after the revolution, a tiny apartment with an area of only 32 m² has turned into a two-room apartment with a bathroom in the kitchen, she survived many owners, but it was rarely repaired. In front of the specialists there was a challenge to transform the "killed" more than a centurous operation of real estate in the cozy interior, so that the tenants feel here as at home, and not in the hotel.
Nude brick surfaces are stylistically combined all the functional zones. In the design of kitchen furniture there is an eclectic: the form of facades is classic, with fillets, and the handles are profile, minimalistic
Redevelopment
In a rectangular in terms of an apartment with three windows, which beyond the classic St. Petersburg, the Well, there were no internal bearing walls. Therefore, all partitions were decided to dismantle. On a small area it was necessary to place several beds, a dining area, a full kitchen and think over the storage of things.
To implement all the wishes of the owners, the authors of the project had to go to the tricks: raise one zone for sleeping on the second level, placing a sleeping place on the mezzanine over the bathroom. Another interesting designer decision was the organization of a dressing room in space for the portal of the fireplace. For this, the septum adjacent to it extended to the opposite wall, forming a niche, and the door canvas installed from the hallway. Thus, it was possible to separate the second sleeping place from the input zone.
Thanks to the device of the second functional level with a small one, but a cozy sleeping place was managed not to clutch the space of furniture objects, retaining the feeling of space and air
Repairs
New partitions erected from drywall. Most of the walls were plastered and painted, some areas were left with an open brickwork, and the space behind the headboard was saved by English wallpaper Morris & Co. Paul disassembled to overlap and re-built lags. In the residential premises laminate laminate, in the corridor and wet areas - ceramic tiles. It also took to completely update all the communications and electrics in the apartment. The windows were also replaced, and wide and deep window sills were carried out by the owner of an apartment from an array of pine. At each of them, you can comfortably settle down together.
Near the bed - the doors in a rather roomy wardrobe. They are framed by wooden panels with a classic layout of moldings
Design
The interior is built on a combination of classic elements (Moldings, Filins, wallpapers)
With modern furniture and lamps. The light background visually expands the space, accent walls of graphite and brown shades, as well as expressive brick surfaces dilute monotony. As bright elements, chairs and wallpapers with floral ornaments are performed.
The authors admitted that the most difficult thing was to decide on the design of the stairs and the railil, to make the design did not take half the apartment. As a result, the option was best approached
In the dressing room you can place upper clothes and luggage, as well as household accessories. Near the bed there is another roomy built-in wardrobe with hangers.
The apartment is well insoligated due to three windows, and for dark time day there are various light scenarios. The cooking zone is equipped with LED backlight, above the table - an elegant suspension. A separate concise spot is intended for a bedside place, and two lamps brought by the owners from Bali provide the backlight of the bed headboard at the lowest level.
The authors of the project tried to preserve traces of the historical past in the apartment - for example, they left an elegant portal of a tiled furnace as a decorative element, and the historical brickwork in some places were given a deposit, covering lacquer. A rough brick surface looks very unusual on window slopes and kitchen apron.
It was possible to maintain the height of the ceilings (3.4 m), as well as renovate the century stucco, removing several layers of oil paint from it. Interesting and the fact that most of the wooden furniture, the owner made his own hands: I made a dining table and a bed from an oak array, a junction at the entrance, console and even kitchen facades.
Unusual for the bathroom Wooden ceiling simultaneously serves as the basis for the bed. Shower cabin allowed to save the square

And us, and the owners in this apartment invested a lot of soul, despite the fact that they were not going to live in it. I wanted guests who come to the apartment would feel the character, individuality of the interior, its thoughtfulness, and did not receive standard housing for rent with Ikeev furniture. Therefore, everyone was done as for themselves, I was looking for new solutions, and many of them came up with what is called, on the go. The concept and layout were redone 2 times. Wallpaper over the bed was generally bought at the last moment - the hostess accidentally saw them in the showcase of the cabin and fell in love.
