To keep the decor in the interior harmoniously, it is worth knowing several rules: a selection of color, materials, symmetry. We share these and other advice.1 comply with the rule of three
The easiest way to make a harmonious composition on any table, a dresser or shelf - to adhere to the "Three Rules". This means that there should be three groups of items on the surface, and in each group - one-three components.
- Vertical group. For example, a vase, a figurine, a candlestick or a plant.
- Horizontal group. For example, a stack of books or a box.
- A group that combines the two previous ones. It is also called the bridge. This may be the subject of the same material, one color range or simply suitable.
It turns out a harmonious and alive composition. If you are not sure that you can combine 4-5 things, take under one of each group. Three items do not create visual noise, but also do not look lonely. No need to put them close to each other or placing at a high distance. Between things should be a little air.
2 Select one color gamut
It is very easy to combine accessories performed in a single palette. Select accessories in close shades, but not the same. You can also use a harmonious pair of flowers, such as pastel pink and gray, solar yellow and green with a yellowish tint.
3 choose one material
According to this rule, all items from the composition should combine the material. But it is not necessary to select things made of one material, they may have echoing details. Another unifying factor in this context is the origin of the materials: natural them or artificial. For example, together will look good for a tree, clay decor and dried flowers at the expense of natural origin.
4 Create rhythm
You can combine the composition with a rhythm. The easiest way to add rhythm is to choose accessories with geometric patterns. Strips, peas, cage are well suited. In this case, the colors and materials can be different, the geometric patterns will become a unifying link.
5 Create symmetry
To create a symmetrical composition, you will need one central subject and several secondary. For the center of the composition, it is good to choose something noticeable and large, vertical. Suitable vase, plant, candle or candlestick, sculpture. On the sides of the center there will be less noticeable and inferior to the size of items. Accessories may not be duplicated, but it is important to pick them up so that they mirror each other.
Do not be afraid to break the symmetry by adding more objects from one side than on the other. The main thing is that the axis is clearly visible, and the logic of the arrangement of objects was clear.
6 Choose the size of the decor depending on the place
The latter rule will help draw up a harmonious composition depending on the placement of the decor. The lower objects are, the larger they should be. And vice versa, when you put something on a high shelf, it should be air and miniature.
