Light can be divided into natural and artificial. It is clear that the more sunlight penetrates your housing and the longer you can use it during the day, the less cost. The task of maximizing natural lighting is not as simple as it seems at first glance, especially in winter.
Daylight
The issue of insolation can be solved when choosing an apartment. Here much depends on what is happening outside the window. Lighter apartments on the upper floors and, for example, those that go on the field are not frowning with trees and other houses. Building density strongly affects the density of the curtains: if you do not live "Window in the window" with a home opposite, you can fully open the glass, that is, either completely eliminate tulle, or leave the Roman curtains that can be raised above or lower at will.
Now developers offer apartments with large windows, with solid glazing balconies. All this looks attractive, but the fact that you save on energy for the light, you spend on heating. A balcony or loggia with solid glazing is very difficult to insulate.
More light enters the rooms with an angular window or with two windows located on different walls. Also on illuminance affects the architectural parameter, which is called "the depth of the floor". Basically on the market offer rectangular rooms with a short side window. The shorter in this case the party that goes into the depths of the floor, the greater the world in the apartment. Plus, of course, the complete absence of the balcony has a positive effect on illumination, but it is rare.
Strengthen the spread of natural light will help glossy and smooth surfaces. It can be the lacquer facades of furniture, mirrors, a glossy tile, covered with varnish parquet. If you make mirror slopes on the windows, light in the apartment will be more.
Artificial lighting
As for the artificial light, the most obvious way to save is the use of luminescent and LED lamps instead of incandescent lamps. Previously, the LEDs gave a colder shade of light, losing the life of the evening interior, but now they give an equally pleasant warm shade as ordinary lamps, serve longer and consume less energy. When buying, pay attention to the color temperature specified on the package: the value of up to 2700 K will mean a warm shade.

Do not avoid shadows - we do not want to live in the light of the searchlight. Soft shadows soothe and relax, no wonder in expensive restaurants and hotels use muted light. Dimmer switches will help you in this - you will have the maximum current control that you feed on the lamp. If in the evening you are watching TV or sit in social networks, much light is not needed. It is enough to twist the wheel on the sensor - and you get a pleasant half. In addition, this lighting prepares our body to sleep. A brighter light convinces our body that outside the window is another day, and can cause problems with falling asleep.
When we talk about zoning with the help of light, we are talking about a reduction in total ceiling lighting (chandelier by 6-12 lamps) in favor of lighting a specific place (flooring for 1-2 lamps, a table lamp for work or sconce for reading, backlight over the picture) .
It is correct that the light sources be diverse, that is, were at different levels relative to your eyes. Thanks to them, the room in the evening will look much more cozy and chaler than in the light of the chandeliers. It is not necessary to make focus only on something one thing - a person can be uncomfortable in a room with a single island of light. Calculate that you turn on at least two zones at the same time - by the number of candles it will still come out less than the lit chandelier.
Another important parameter is the power of the light flux, the concept that usually use the technician to calculate the illumination. If we speak in a simple language, the source lights not the air, but the specific surface from which the light is reflected and falls into our eyes. If the surface is far away, and the light flux is weak, then you will remain in the dark space and at the same time pay for the lighting of the void in which the lamp is directed. Errors in lighting rooms with high ceilings are often associated with this principle.
