"Tunnel" effect can be leveled using properly placed furniture. Use one of these schemes for your long living room.
1 Split a room for zones
Select several zones in an elongated room - a logical solution. So you break the space, and with the mind you use it.
In addition to the living room zone, there may be a dining room, a kitchen or a working corner. You can go further: to equip the children's, game or bedroom.
2 Make a wave passage
Rearrange the furniture so that the room does not have a direct pass between the far walls. The passage must resemble the letter S, as in the picture below.
With such an arrangement, the form of the room will not be too rushing into the eyes, besides it will seem that the space is more involved.
3 Put the sofa across the room
Long sofa, moved to a long wall, only emphasizes the form of the living room. It is better to buy two small sofas or sofa and a couple of chairs and put them back to short walls. The transverse strips from the furniture backs visually break the room and make it less rectangular.
4 Place furniture in the center
This solution will be especially successful if the furniture can be grouped around the fireplace, TV zones or windows.
The placement in the center will create the effect of a more involved space. At least she will definitely look harmonious than a lonely sofa, torn to the far corner.
5 Check the corner sofa
The right corner sofa can also play an elongated living room. Look at the photo below: The transverse back "cuts" the room and visually changes its shape.
