To competently choose the thermostat, you need to comply with only a few simple rules.

The automatic radiator thermostat (thermostat) is called a device that allows you to adjust the flow of the coolant and maintain a comfortable room indoor. The thermostat is mounted on a pipe supplying the coolant to the radiator. It has a swivel handle with divisions corresponding to different air temperature values. A sensitive thermal sensor is built into the radiator. When the temperature reaches the set value, the hot water supply to the heating device is stopped when it is reduced - it is resumed.
1 Choose a suitable type of radiator
Conventional temperature regulators differ in the type of sensor, which can be solid-state, liquid or gas-filled: by the type of thermally sensitive substance. The gas-filled provides the greatest temperature comfort, since their response time to the temperature change in the room is only eight minutes. Liquid it ranges from 20 to 30 minutes, and solid-state (paraffin) can reach 60 minutes. Therefore, such thermostators are poorly suitable for an apartment or a private house.

2 Do not confuse the type of heating system
Thermostators differ in the type of heating system, and here it is very important not to be mistaken with the choice, otherwise the device will not work. The type of system (single-tube or two-pipe) is necessarily indicated on the packaging of thermostators.3 Look on the color of the cap
Protective caps for thermostat valves are made of plastic of different colors. Gray - for a single-tube system, red - for two-pipe and green - for radiators with lower connections. So with the type of thermostat you can figure out even without packaging.

4 pick up the design
There are thermostators are manufactured not only in a classic white case, but also with a metal handle.
