What is caliber tile?
The caliber is the actual (production) tile size in millimeters, which may differ from the nominal due to the heterogeneity of natural raw materials and firing features. If the package shows the format 30 30cm, it really happens for several tenth millimeters more or less. Typically, ceramic tiles are sorted by parties of the same dimensions with the permissive difference set by the standards. In addition to one caliber there is a tolerance of 0.5mm. Caliber tiles indicate numbers (1, 0, 09 ... 05).

What is the porcelain stoneware from ceramic tiles?
Porcelain stoneware, as well as ceramic tiles, made from a mixture of crushed clay of different varieties and some other minerals, but in a slightly different recipe. Pressure stonewares are pressed under high pressure (50mPa), so that it almost does not remain pores and emptiness, which in fairly large quantities are present in the ceramic tile, and are burned at higher temperatures (1200-1300 s). The result is the raw materials sinning, turning in almost the monolith.

The durability of ceramic facing largely depends on the proper selection of adhesive composition. Porcelain stoneware is a completely non-porous material with extremely low water absorption. Special adhesive mixtures that have increased strength characteristics and adhesion values of at least 1 MPa are intended to work with it. The seams between porcelain tiles should also be filled with high adhesion to edges.

How to choose the right grout for ceramic facing?
When choosing a grout, you should consider the tile type, width of the seams and the operating conditions of the coating. For example, the most popular cement-based compositions for wide seams are characterized by greater elasticity. Grouts for wet rooms contain disinfooty additives. Epoxy possesses high chemical resistance, they are suitable for tiles of worktop working surfaces. For the street only frost-resistant mixes are suitable.
