Is the historical interior capable of look fresh and modern? Is it possible to create a unique collection of antique interior items and works of art, putting in a modest budget? The apartment, which we will tell, allows you to give affirmative answers to these difficult questions.

The owner of the apartment Jeanne Dubsk admits: "I could never imagine a modern post-war apartment as my personal space. Of course, I had to live in student hostels, and in the buildings of the end of the twentieth century. But when the funds appeared and the question of choice arose, I made it right away, barely seeing the house of the time of Yuggentil and the apartment. This is exactly what I need! And she did almost impossible. The launched communal, who visited the horror on acquaintances and friends, who were seriously discussed by the current owner from such an acquisition, in two years turned into a smoking harmony and a unique historical entourage "Family nest with history".

Rethinking classic

The noble decor of the walls of this exquisite apartment is built on classic details and a precisely selected complex color scheme. So, one wall in a pink-ocher living room is painted in watermelon-pink color, a milky-chocolate frieze is passed under the ceiling, framed by thin white profiles; The protruding angle in front of the window is also highlighted. As befits in the classic interior, the lower part of the walls closes a wide white plinth.

Zhanna-man is creative and unusual. Educational designer, teacher, a well-known stylist, collaborating with fashion magazines, it has an honorable taste. By purchasing an apartment, she already knew that the future accommodation in the style should be similar to the one in which her grandmother spent the young years: "I myself was born in such a house built at the end of the XX-beginning of the twentieth century. Granuals, however, a little preserved Things of that time. " Of course, about some "pure" style, as well as a serious stylization under modern, speeches did not follow-in this case, the interior would have to decorate stucco, stained glass, painting. But after all, the appearance of the house is difficult to attribute to the pure Yighdayil (brighter about him reminds a spiral-shaped staircase, but it is not visible in the apartment). Real BiderMyer (the classic of the beginning of the 4th century) - pleasure for wealthy collectors. Therefore, aesthetics of forms, ranging from profiled eaves and panel doors and ending with chandeliers and classical frames on the graph of fashion historian Alexander Vasilyeva, appeals mainly to neoclassic a turn of the XIHXXH century.

Right story

Sculpture Piero from Ceramics was bought at the Paris flea market. The glass ball lamp was absent, it was picked up much later. Another Pierreo (soapbox) - in the bathroom: the hostess herself was renovated.

Actually, the repair required not as much time and money: the partitions were transferred in the kitchen and the bathroom, painted the walls, the ceilings and restored the old militant floors (only in the already mentioned rooms the floors had to change). Watery rare cases when an antique detail could not pick up, styled stylization: "There is a pantry in the bathroom, for which I was looking for a door of a certain size, even gave an ad. Vitoga still had to make a lining for his drawing on the door.

Dining area from "Sun"

Right story

An exquisite decoration of this kitchen serves as a whole "ensemble" of the famous company "Brothers Sun" (Gebrder Thonet, Austria): a sofa, a round dining table, a chair and six chairs were purchased by the hostess at different times and restored. They made up elegant headset, quite functional to this day.

Michael Sun (1796-1871) became famous for invented the unique technology for the production of bent furniture. Instead of the usual flat pieces of wood, weakly flexible and requiring many compounds and decorative linings, disguised joints, it used a set of beech patter and special bending techniques that have ensured the extraordinary diversity of the forms and decorative furniture features. He also eliminated the need for numerous compounds and achieved the creation of very durable structures, a highly simplifying the assembly process. Commercial success and influence of this wizard on furniture design were huge. Furniture drowns appreciated Le Corbusier and French Impressionists, and his chair number 14 still produces the "Brothers Sun" factory.

The first thing that all guests of this amazing house draws attention to the same color and complex shades of walls. Singing palette is associated with a separate story. "Soon, after buying an apartment, I had my friend Vasilyev," Jeanne is located. "While we talked, he died one after another and painted the notepad sheets. Everything happened about one hundred options. Then we applied these sheets to the walls with different lights, discarded unsuccessful. - And so as long as for each there is no one sheet left. " The painstaking work on the mixing of Sadolin colors (Estonia) is followed by the end of the Second, the main tone was found, thanks to which there was a deep blue color of the hallway, and the ohree-pink living room seemed to be highlighted from the inside of orange ... Of course, such a bright palette was not It is characteristic of neoclassic, but in the city where the cloudy cold winters stretch for a long time, so nice when the walls of the house please the eyes with a sunny flavor! Shining paints are complemented by overflowing of the bilateral porter from the taffeta, reminiscent of the times of modern.

Decor or redevelopment?

Right story

Is it worth it to be tormented with the transfer of walls and redevelopment, if even the imperfection of proportions gives the accuracy and charm of "home with a history"? In this case, we have an instructive example of how purely decorator techniques completely transformed the nearmonic to the proportions of the interior.

Thus, the new color of the walls of a narrow and long corridor allowed the space to "breathe" and gain a feeling of volume. A window decorated with luxurious drapes, a small oval table-console and a pair of graceful chairs became a kind of visual "cesuras", divided long passage to zones and inviting to make a stop, like pictures on the walls.

Alphilding the location of the passages between the corridor, living room and the bedroom, accentuated by the contrasting colors of the walls, decorated the interior of the spatial intrigue: the fragments of the rooms are viewed like elegant scenes in the theater. "Yes, the interior of my house is somewhat theatrian," the owner notes, "but, in my opinion, this is his appeal. After all, artistry is important not only in the ability to dress and present yourself, but also in the ability to decorate your home."

Almost every detail of the interior is associated with its own story, sometimes resembling a detective. For example, the chandelier in the hallway (or rather, what remained from it) even at the very owner of the antique shop caused bewilderment, he offered from her round metal frame with hooks to make ... a substole. Ilish an experienced professional view helped Zhanna to determine the true purpose of the pile of useless metal. Plafones and suspensions she picked up at another time and in different places. This applies to almost all lamps. "Abroad, I travel with a notebook, in which it is drawn in detail and recorded, what size it is necessary for me and for what, and painstakingly look for what is necessary for the restoration of one or another item."

Exclusive bed

Right story

It was not possible to arrange a separate guest room, and the owner of the apartment equipped an extra bed in the office. Since at the end of the XIX-early XX century. Folding sofas still did not exist, she decided to combine antique parts with modern elements and painted a detailed sketch. Recompute with it made a sofa with 0.9m wide and a length of 2M, which supplemented with authentic and carefully renovated parts of the ancient buffet of the Ardco epoch (these are closed cabinet sections above the lies). According to both sides, they were completed by open sections and painted the whole design in warm olive color. Now the uninitiated is difficult to distinguish real antique elements from Novodel.

It is worth noting that thanks to perseverance and excitement of the collector of the hostess managed to meet in a very modest budget: it literally gathered a unique situation in crumbs. The apartment was preserved and an old oven-now do not use it, but carefully renovated. There were two o'clock stoves (the second, located between the daughter's room, the office and the corridor, was demolished by the previous tenants, they laid the window in the kitchen, turned into a decorative niche).

Highlighting his housing, the hostess especially cared for the creation of the correct species points and Misaneszen. From the entrances to the room, with sofas and chairs, carefully built picturesque angles are open: mirrors, which reflect the interior, perspectives of neighboring premises, paintings. For the same reason, the podium was built in the bedroom, although the subject of interest was the view outside the house: "I like, waking up, look out the window, says the hostess. - I picked up the height of the podium - it was about 35cm, and at the height of the bed 40cm I am I can admire the view without getting up from bed. " In all rooms, a lot of taste for placing accessories from shiny metal, bronze, stained glass and painted porcelain; This creates a festive mood, and for the most part, the details have not lost their functionality. A special comfort of the interior gives numerous lamps that provide soft local illumination. The walls are decorated with antique paintings, pencil graphics, engraving, embroidery (genre scenes, portraits, sketches for theatrical productions). For each acquisition, the owner of the collection itself selects the frame. The exposition periodically varies depending on the mood.

Right story

The cat sculpture was brought by the hostess from Egypt and suffered during transportation, which demanded a thorough restoration. On the table, the French table lamp Time of modern and an ashtray in the form of a flower with removable petals

"The interior must be diverse," Jeanne Dubsk believes. She demonstrated not only the advantages of this approach, but also an amazing ability to give a second breath out of use so that they would surprise us with their beauty.

New is well forgotten old

The author of the project project is responsible for the editorial office.

- In addition to correlation with a certain epoch, childhood memories served as criteria for you when choosing housing?

- When going to acquire an apartment, I determined what area I need: at least 90 and no more than 120m2. The mere 18-year-old daughter (by the time she was buying an apartment was 15 years old). So we needed two bedrooms, an office with bookcases and a dressing table, a large kitchen (usually guests are eating there, so I don't need a dining room) and a living room. All these conditions are observed. The guest room did not have enough square, so I arranged one sleeping place for guests in the office.

- What has been preserved from the former attachment of the apartment?

- Everything that could be renovated: most of the doors (with the exception of the door between the kitchen and the bathroom), the floors are spent manually, and not cycled to keep the texture of the boards (new placed in the kitchen and bathroom). For all doors, I picked up antique handles and lining. The furnace did not fall, although I do not use it.
