We combine two different styles to create an elegant and at the same time cozy space.
1 Take Scanda as a basis and add a classic decor
Modern classic and Scandinavian styles differ from each other finishing surfaces, selection of furniture and the general mood of the interior. But at the same time they are very close on materials and color schemes, so they are easy to combine them. However, if you think about the interior without a designer and for the first time, it is better to distinguish with what style you take.
The simplest solution is to create a traditional Scandinavian interior and enter the decor from the classics in it. 4 Choose a tree, stone and natural fabrics
Scand and classics have a lot of common materials for finishing surfaces and furniture selection. Prefer the whole natural.
- Wood. It is inherent in both styles. You can choose it to finish the floors, and the wooden furniture will look good: cabinets, chairs or beds.
- Stone and ceramics. In both directions, these materials are suitable for countertops in the kitchen, as well as floor finishes, walls in the bathroom.
- Paper. Paper wallpapers, chandeliers, screens can be chosen so that they fit into a mixed interior.
- Flax, cotton, silk and other natural fabrics. Good choice for curtains and furniture upholstery.
5 Choose an unobtrusive decor from both styles
To the mixture of two styles look harmoniously, choose restrained solutions. For example, instead of rich stucco can be used laconic moldings. Abandon the carving on the furniture and take strict classic wooden chairs. Avoid ethnic Scandinavian patterns and bright accessories, but to adopt textile texture and put light candles on the table. All these items unobtrusively reflect a certain style, so they are easier to mix them.
