We tell how to warm up the country water pipe in winter and get rid of ice plugs inside the pipes.

Operation of this system showed one unpleasant feature. If winter intervals between arrows did not exceed two or three weeks, everything was fine. However, if the break was a month or more, in a pipe, drilling water into the house, an ice cork arose somewhere. In the spring, the plug quickly melted, although the earth remained wary. Such a rapid disappearance of the cork indicates that it occurs above the ground level in the basement. Apparently, the following occurs.

In a relatively warm end of the pipe, lowered to the well, water evaporates. Couples rise through the pipe to the coldest area in the basement of the unheated house and condensed there in the form of an inlet, a traffic jam is formed for a fairly large interval. If the intervals between arrogants are small, the lumen of the pipe does not climb, with the next inclusion of the pump, the hollow ice is melted, and the plug is not formed.

To eliminate the occurrence of traffic jams, as well as for melting formed, heated pipes, which can be made both outside and from the inside. For this purpose, special cables are produced, which are two parallel conductor pressed into semiconducting plastic and insulating material coated. Sometimes the coating includes and shielding a fever.

The author acquired a cable with an outer cross section of 3.3 × 8.3 mm and rubber caps for it. The power of the cable was 20 W / m. To enter the cable to the pipe of the water pipeline, you can purchase special transitions, but they are usually produced by universal - for pipes with threads ½, ¾ and 1, so cumbersome and roads.

How to make a seal transition with your own hands

For the acquired cable and the supply pipe with an internal diameter of 19 mm, the author decided to independently make a seal transition from suitable water parts - extension cords with an external and internal thread ½ (pos. 1 in the photo), transition with outer thread ½ and internal 3/8 (pos 2), as well as two piles of stainless steel with an external diameter of 18 mm, purchased in the fastener store (pos. 3), and a rubber seal made of 10 mm thick (pos. 4).

To form an extension hole in the rubber transition seal, the DREMEL 8200 grinding machine was used with a cutter with a diameter of 3.2 mm from its set, which was installed in a device converting it into a drilling (and almost milling) machine.

Next, the cylinder was cut out of her lacus with a thin-walled sharpened brass tube with an external diameter of 20 mm.

Sealing the end of the cable was performed using a rubber cap from the cable set. For dense landing, the cap was used a shrink tube. At the beginning of the cable, directly adjacent to the future cap, was "planted" a shrink tube in two layers. As a result, it was possible to choose a handset, which "sat down" and on the cap, and on a thickened cable.

Under the cap and in the end gap between it and the thickening heat shrinking, a small amount of rubber glue was applied (photo 1), after which it was "seated" a tube of a suitable diameter (photo 2), and then another slightly larger size (photo 3).

Installation of the heating cable for water supply inside the pipe

To enter the cable in the pipe, the water pipe was slightly modified. The supply of water along the hose from the well through the basement into the inner wiring is made through a short segment of the polypropylene tube with an outer diameter of 25 mm passing through the floor. In the basement on this segment there is a fitting for the hose, from above - the transition with an external thread ½. The tee will be on this transition, along the horizontal assignment of which water falls into the domestic wiring, and the sealing transition for the cable is entered into the vertical. For some time, the water supply was operated with a plug on the vertical diversion of the tee (photo 4).

How to start a warming cable in a plumbing pipe? Installation is advisable to carry out in the following order. Initially, from the water pipeline, water should be drained into the well and raise the pump to the surface, trying to pull the hose horizontally. If possible, straighten the cable, insert it into the hole of the tee and enter to the required length (photo 5).

In the tee, screw the extension ½ (pos. 1) with a sealing fluoroplastic ribbon, to put the walker in the extension cable (pos. 3). So that the water does not flip over the thread of the extension, you need to fill it with silicone sealant. Insert the rubber seal, the second washer, screw the transition (pos. 2).

Now you know how to connect pipe heating cable. If in the winter after a long break in the visits to the cottage in the pipe, an ice cork is formed, enough to use the voltage of the network for 20 minutes, and the plug melts.
