Curved knives capture the grass, pressed to the lower stationary blade and cut gradually, like ordinary scissors.

You simply handle such a device. It is enough to roll it in front of it, trying not to go to irresistible obstacles (boulders, bushes, trees, pillars, etc.). Bricks, bottles and other medium-sized items, accidentally fastened on the way, cannot imperceptibly get into the drum and spoil knives, because they will detect its presence with a blow or resistance to the mower movement. But the rods, trimming ropes and wire are the worst enemies of the aggregate.

Gasoline lawn mower - Self-propelled model SP 48 HWM (MTD). Melting lawn mowers are designed for haircuting grass on smooth areas of well-groomed lawns, where there are no plants with solid stems (burdock, chamomile, wormwood, etc.). Make such mowers are very few, there are only 2-3 models in specialty stores (for example, VD 28S, Wolf Garten; TR 201000, Talon; Exclusive 5400, Husqyarna). The weight of the device is 8-10 kg, the price is from $ 75 to $ 115.

"Working horses" on wheels

1. Choosing a lawn mower, the size of the lawn, its relief and location should be taken into account. If finance is allowed, it is better to have a wheel mower for smooth sections and a trimmer for having grass near buildings, fences, benches, flower beds, water bodies, alpine slides, on steep slopes and in other hard-to-reach places. For processing of sections up to 300 m2, mowers with width of the grip width 33 cm are suitable. The larger area, the wider there should be a grip to the device and, accordingly, more powerful engine.

Electric lawn mowers are equipped with a capacity of 0.8 to 2 kW and operate from a voltage with a voltage of 220-230 V or from batteries. Tied to the network can only function where they let "leash". Rechargeable can cut the lawn anywhere and at any time until the batteries are. It is much easier to care for the lawn with the help of self-propelled mowers (RD 21E MTD, etc.), from which the engine rotates not only a knife, but also a pair of leading wheels. As a result, the machine itself moves and cuts the lawn. Lazy owner can only direct it on the desired trajectory, and to ensure that the useful toy does not leave him. This mower can be blocked by turning the front wheels, and it, as on the autopilot, will move strictly in the specified direction. Some models provide adjustment of the speed of movement - from modest "pensioners" 2.4 km / h to "youth" 5 km / h (MR 534TB of EFCO et al.). All controls are located on the handle of self-propelled. Some models can adjust the position of the handle and even fold it when storing and transporting the machine.

And where is the beveled grass? Options are possible here. The most troublesome, but cheap - when the mower recesses it on the lawn. Then the grass has to rake manually (fan grabs). It can be collected by it and special garden vacuum cleaners (or rather, "grassy") with electric or gasoline engines. Prices for these devices are different. These devices are easy enough. At the end of the metal tube, the cutting head is fixed. Its main part is plastic bobbin with a reserve of a special fishing line (cord) inside. Before working from the bobbin, two pieces of fishing line are pulled out and fix them. Trimmers with an electric motor located at the bottom end of the rod are prohibited to mow wet grass. For convenience, the bottom of the rod in these models is bent, and the rotation from the engine to the cutting head is transmitted using a flexible steel cable. In a cutting head, instead of bobbin with a fishing line, you can install plastic or metal knives nozzles (such as in the EFCO model 8100). In this case, you can process not only any grass (burdock, sow, etc.), but not even very thick (diameter up to 5 mm) bushes and bitch.
